Introduction to the Work
Ode to the Communist Party of China was written in the traditional Chinese literary form, Fu, by overseas Chinese people to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the CPC. The work has seven paragraphs and 666 characters in total, which means best congratulations for the CPC to develop without a hitch. The Ode was written mainly in vernacular Chinese, and adopted the expressions that are encouraged in the New Culture Movement, with the features of classical Chinese, which endowed the work with deep sensation and great manner. The work was written mainly by Chen Entian, president of World Peace Ribbon Organization. The writing is distinguished for its profound substance, unique style, concise expression and deep insight.
The writing of Ode to the Communist Party of China started in January 2021, and was finished in May 2021. In order to find some inspirations for a distinguished work, Chen Entian, the main author of the writing, returned to the Chinese mainland to retake the road of the Long March. It took Chen Entian and other authors five months to conceive the idea and substance and finish the whole writing. Chen Entian and other authors composed the work as overseas Chinese people and leaders of international organizations with the writing method of personification and common expressions of eastern and western world.
Ode to the Communist Party of China with tremendous cohesion and dynamism is totally different from traditional ones that pursue difficult and classical expressions. It is the first one that compares the CPC to a great soul of the East and describes it with the most precious spirit. In the work, the CPC was proved to be both irrepressible in the fighting and principled and wise in governance. Ode to the Communist Party of China will be published in six official languages used in the United Nations, together with a song A Great Soul in the East to help global governments and parties understand the CPC.

In 2021, the Chinese zodiac year of the Ox, the Communist Party of China (CPC) is celebrated for its 100th birthday. Congratulations flood from both inside and outside the Party, from all around the world.
Recalling its past, we are keenly aware of how the CPC suffered during its born, struggled during its early development, and gained tremendous achievements today. We are so inspired and thrilled to the course of the Party that we eagerly respond to the idea of overseas Chinese people to write an ode, with months of work, to express our sincere hope that the Party will thrive long into the future.
It is our sincere wish that global governments, parties and people across the world, through this ode, get to know and understand the CPC, and join hands with it in creating a promising future for all.
Ode to the Communist Party of China
On July 23, 1921, the 1st National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Shanghai
The CPC, as a great soul of the East, is thriving in the prime of life. Seen from its 100-year-long history, the great Party has done its destined course for the nation. At the time when the nation of China suffered in misery and struggled to survive, the Communist Party of China, as a great soul, was founded. And it went through dark age of hardship, with rain and wind, wars and battles. Though it deeply suffered from trials and tribulation, the Party has been striving on constantly and continuously in the uncommonly difficult times. Today, the CPC, rising and standing firmly in the east of the world, developing a golden age of prosperity, is striving for a community with a shared future for mankind.
Since the First Opium War (1840-1842) in the late Qing dynasty when China was plagued by poverty and weakness and suffered from the invasion of imperial powers, heroes of the time were called for to save the nation. After several tries, including the Hundred Days’ Reform, 1911 Revolution, the New Culture Movement and the May Fourth Movement, the outbreak of the October Revolution fired the torch of Chinese men and women with high ideals to spread Marxism-Leninism across the country. Instantly, patriotic youth, workers and peasants gathered to respond the calling. The CPC, the great soul of the East, was born under the light of the dark night.
When the God is about to confer a great office on any man, it first exercises his mind with suffering. When the CPC was in early time, though being young and innocent, it had visions and ambitions deep down to benefit the Chinese people and revitalize the nation, it has to cooperate with Kuomintang make the course. However, when it was betrayed by the partner and suffered in pain with blood and death, the Party came to know what was the evil and had to undertake the Long March in order to maintain its military power. Despite the hardship it bore, the Party survived at last, with the God having its back.
Out of the depth of misfortune comes bliss. The CPC eventually grew strong enough to collaborate with the Kuomintang in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. When the war was over, the Kuomintang tried in vain to fight for the fruit of the success. While the CPC led its millions of forces across the Yangtze River after defeating the Kuomintang in the Liaoshen Campaign, Huaihai Campaign and Pingjin Campaign. And then the CPC drove the defeated Kuomintang to Taiwan. Finally, the Party liberated the country and found the People’s Republic of China. After eradicating the remaining enemy forces and bandits, it eventually proved itself to be irresistible in any fight with the success in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
Wars were ended, but the CPC was still on trial in terms of governance. The three-year natural disaster exposed it to starvation and poverty, and ten-year Cultural Revolution harassed it by troubles and setbacks. Having experienced all these pains, the Party became tougher in nature, and it began introspection. Finally, it got the development path corrected and decided to reform and open itself up to the outside world. What’s more, the CPC was determined to rejuvenate the country through science and education as well as law-based governance, embarked on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and led its people to build a prosperous China together. As a result, China has put on a new look and seen its great achievements.
Looking back the development of the Party it has always taken the responsibility of the rejuvenation of China. The Party proved to be both irrepressible in the fighting and principled and wise in governance. From an infant to a warrior, from innocent to mature, the CPC, which is now head of the country, has witnessed its size grown from only dozens of members, to over 90 million people and nearly five million primary-level organizations. Effective work in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disaster, corruption and poverty has shown us how powerful the Party is.
The CPC will never fail the time as it has taken the responsibility by the God. Staying true to its original mission, it remains committed to the principle of democracy, science and peace, and launches the Belt and Road Initiative which calls for global cooperation. Great is the Communist Party of China for it is striving for the Chinese nation to realize its dream of rejuvenation! Introduction to Chen Entian，head of the author group
Chen Entian is a contemporary interdisciplinary Chinese scholar and a World Peace Ambassador. He was born in Chinese mainland, and now works as the convener of the joint meeting of the World Peace Ribbon Organization. Chen Entian has served as chairman of the first committee in International Seven Three Society, the largest Society in the world, honorary president of Thai-Chinese Artists Association and co-chair of Danish Kingdom Andersen Cultural Foundation.
Chen Entian has many literature and calligraphy works in the mainland such as Laotingxu, Ode to Zhongxun, Ode to the Grand China, Ode to the New Chongqing whose inscribed version is regarded as the best inscribed work in Asia, Ode to Chinese People’s Liberation Army which is to celebrate the military parade held on the 60th anniversary of the founding of new China, and a theme song I am the Son of the Yellow Earth for an education activity of the mass line, and book of poems such as the Lotus Mountain, Autumn Rain at Xiangjiang, Mountains and Rivers in Sichuan and the Sea.Ode to the Grand China he wrote had a great impact in Chinese literary field and was regarded as “the best Fu in China”，whichhas, in the 21th century, inspired many Chinese people in writing Fu themselves. Chen Entian was also invited to serve as tenured senior consultant in the Hong Kong Federation of Literary and Art because of Ode to the Grand China.
Besides, Chen Entian led many non-governmental scholars in response to the Belt and Road Initiative for international cooperation put forward by President Xi Jinping. Supported by some former leaders in the United Nations, he established the World Peace Ribbon Organization in an effort to maintain the world peace as well as to deal with the folk’s affairs related to the Belt and Road Initiative. Inspired by the virtue and wisdom of Master Hsing Yun, Chen designated December 16 as the Belt and Road International Day.
