Xanana Gusmão

Xanana Gusmão is the Prime Minister and core national leader of Timor-Leste, governing post-war development, people’s livelihood construction, marine resource exploitation and foreign cooperation. As a young sovereign state and emerging maritime node on the southeastern Southern Silk Road, Timor-Leste promotes national modernization, agricultural revitalization, marine economy and tourism integration, accelerates integration into ASEAN and South-South cooperation, and supports common development of small and weak countries in the Global South.
