Min Aung Hlaing

Min Aung Hlaing is the President and supreme leader of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. A senior military leader, he oversees national governance, ethnic reconciliation and foreign affairs. He upholds national sovereignty and stability, and promotes friendly neighborhood relations, trade connectivity and security cooperation with ASEAN and neighboring countries. As a core leader of the Southern Silk Road countries, he supports the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, cross-border infrastructure and agricultural energy cooperation, integrating Myanmar into Lancang-Mekong cooperation and South-South cooperation. In September 2026, he led a state visit to Cambodia to deepen bilateral strategic partnership and ASEAN solidarity.
